Anise seeds
Anise seeds are the small, ridged seeds of the anise plant, with a distinctive sweet, liquorice-like flavour. They are used whole or ground in baking, confectionery, and some savoury spice blends, as well as to flavour liqueurs like ouzo and sambuca. Their strong flavour means they are typically used in small quantities.
