Blackcurrants (fresh)

Blackcurrants are small, dark purple berries with a tart, intensely flavoured juice, more commonly used cooked than eaten raw due to their sharpness. They are made into jams, syrups, and liqueurs such as cassis, and are a common addition to baked desserts. Dried blackcurrants are also used similarly to other dried fruits in baking.

Measured fresh, before any drying, cooking, or other processing changes its water content and density.
