Bone broth (liquid)

Bone broth is a savoury liquid made by simmering animal bones, often with connective tissue and some meat, for an extended period, sometimes with a splash of vinegar to help extract minerals and collagen. It is used as a base for soups and sauces or consumed on its own, and tends to gel when chilled due to its collagen content. It is generally simmered longer than standard stock, resulting in a richer body.

As a free-flowing liquid, this ingredient fills a measuring cup with no trapped air pockets, so its weight is close to a straightforward density calculation.
