Boysenberries (frozen)

Boysenberries are a hybrid berry, a cross between blackberries, raspberries, and loganberries, with a large size and a sweet-tart flavour. They are used in pies, jams, and sauces much like other bramble berries, softening readily when cooked. They are less widely available fresh than blackberries or raspberries and are often sold frozen or as preserves.

Freezing can cause an ingredient to clump or trap air unevenly, which slightly changes how it packs into a measuring cup compared with fresh.
