Breadcrumbs (fresh)
Breadcrumbs are small fragments or crumbs made from dried or fresh bread, used to coat foods before frying or baking, bind mixtures like meatballs and meatloaf, or top casseroles for a crisp finish. Dried breadcrumbs are finer and absorb less moisture than fresh, softer breadcrumbs. Their texture and coarseness vary depending on how the bread was processed.
Measured fresh, before any drying, cooking, or other processing changes its water content and density.
