Broccoli (florets)
Broccoli is a green cruciferous vegetable with tightly clustered flower buds atop a thick, edible stalk. It is steamed, roasted, stir-fried, or eaten raw, with cooking mellowing its slightly bitter, sulphurous flavour. The stalk can be peeled and cooked alongside the florets to reduce waste.
Florets are irregular, air-trapping pieces that pack more loosely into a cup than a chopped or pureed form.
