Cardamom (ground)

Cardamom is an aromatic spice from the ginger family, sold as whole pods, loose seeds, or ground powder, with a warm, slightly sweet, citrusy flavour. It is used in both sweet and savoury dishes across South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Scandinavian cooking, including chai, curries, and baked goods. Green cardamom is the most common variety, distinct from the smokier black cardamom.

Grinding reduces an ingredient to a fine, even texture that generally packs more densely than a whole or crushed form.
