Cardamom pods (whole)

Cardamom pods are the whole, unopened seed pods of the cardamom plant, containing small aromatic black seeds inside a papery green or white husk. They are used whole in simmered dishes like curries, rice, and chai, and often lightly crushed to release more flavour before cooking. The pods themselves are generally not eaten and are removed or left in the dish as a visual cue not to bite into them.

Measured whole and unprepared, before any chopping, slicing, or other processing changes its density.
