Cheddar cheese (grated, loosely packed)

Cheddar cheese is a firm cow's milk cheese, originally from England, ranging in flavour from mild and creamy when young to sharp and crumbly when aged. It is widely used grated over dishes, melted into sauces, or eaten on its own in sandwiches and on cheese boards. Its meltability makes it a common choice for cooked cheese dishes like macaroni cheese.

Grating produces fine shreds that pack more densely than larger chopped or sliced pieces of the same ingredient.
