Cinnamon (ground)

Cinnamon is a warm, sweet-spicy spice made from the dried inner bark of trees in the Cinnamomum genus, sold as ground powder or rolled sticks called quills. It is used across both sweet and savoury dishes, from baked goods and desserts to curries and spiced rice. Ceylon and cassia cinnamon are the two most common types, differing subtly in flavour intensity and sweetness.

Grinding reduces an ingredient to a fine, even texture that generally packs more densely than a whole or crushed form.
