Coconut flakes (toasted)
Coconut flakes are larger, flatter pieces of dried coconut flesh, either sweetened or unsweetened, used for texture and visual appeal in baking and desserts. They are often toasted to enhance their flavour and are used as a topping for cakes, granola, and curries. Their larger size gives a chewier bite compared to finely shredded desiccated coconut.
Toasting removes some surface moisture and can make pieces lighter and more brittle, slightly changing how they settle into a cup.
