Corn chips (crushed)

Corn chips are a crunchy snack food made from ground corn dough, formed into shapes and fried or baked until crisp. They are eaten on their own as a snack, used as a base for nachos, or crushed and used as a crunchy coating or topping in some recipes. Their sturdy texture makes them well suited to holding dips and toppings.

Crushing breaks an ingredient into irregular fragments, which can pack either more loosely or more densely than the whole form depending on fragment size.
