Cornflour

Cornflour, known as cornstarch in some countries, is a fine, powdery starch extracted from corn kernels, used primarily as a thickening agent for sauces, gravies, and fillings. It is typically mixed with a small amount of cold liquid before being stirred into a hot dish to prevent clumping, producing a glossy, thickened result. It is also used to create a light, crisp coating in some fried foods.
