Digestive biscuits (crushed)

Digestive biscuits are semi-sweet, slightly crumbly British biscuits made from coarse wheat flour, often coated in chocolate. They are eaten on their own with tea, or crushed and used as a base for cheesecakes and other desserts, similar to how graham crackers are used elsewhere. Their firm, crumbly texture makes them easy to crush finely for a biscuit base.

Crushing breaks an ingredient into irregular fragments, which can pack either more loosely or more densely than the whole form depending on fragment size.
