Dulse flakes
Dulse flakes are made from a type of reddish-purple edible seaweed, dried and flaked, with a salty, slightly smoky, savoury flavour reminiscent of bacon to some. They are used as a seasoning sprinkled over soups, salads, and popcorn, or as a natural source of umami in vegetarian and vegan cooking. Their flavour intensifies when lightly toasted.
