Fennel (diced)
Fennel is a plant whose bulb, stalks, fronds, and seeds are all used in cooking, with the bulb having a crisp texture and a mild anise-like flavour. It is eaten raw in salads, roasted, braised, or sautéed, with cooking mellowing its liquorice notes into a sweeter flavour. Its fronds resemble dill and can be used as an herb garnish.
Dicing cuts an ingredient into small, even cubes, which pack differently into a cup than slices or larger chopped pieces.
