Gouda cheese (grated)
Gouda cheese is a firm, mild Dutch cheese made from cow's milk, with a smooth texture and a flavour that becomes richer and slightly caramelised as it ages. It is eaten on cheese boards, melted into sandwiches, or grated into cooked dishes, with young Gouda being softer and milder than aged versions. Aged Gouda develops a firmer, sometimes slightly crystalline texture.
Grating produces fine shreds that pack more densely than larger chopped or sliced pieces of the same ingredient.
