Green peppercorns (whole)
Green peppercorns are unripe peppercorns, milder and fresher-tasting than black pepper, often sold pickled or freeze-dried rather than dried like black pepper. They are used in sauces, particularly classic French pepper sauces for steak, and in some Southeast Asian cooking where fresh green peppercorns are used on the stem. Their milder heat and slightly fruity flavour distinguish them from fully dried black peppercorns.
Measured whole and unprepared, before any chopping, slicing, or other processing changes its density.
