Ground ginger

Ground ginger is made from dried ginger root ground into a fine powder, with a warmer, more concentrated, slightly sharper flavour than fresh ginger. It is commonly used in baking, particularly in spiced cakes and biscuits, as well as in spice blends. It is not a direct substitute for fresh ginger in recipes calling for its juicy, fibrous texture.
