Hazelnuts (ground)
Hazelnuts are round, brown-shelled nuts with a rich, sweet, slightly earthy flavour, eaten raw, roasted, or ground into pastes and flours. They are used in baking, confectionery, and savoury dishes, often paired with chocolate in classic combinations. Roasting hazelnuts loosens their thin brown skins, which are commonly rubbed off before use.
Grinding reduces an ingredient to a fine, even texture that generally packs more densely than a whole or crushed form.
