Honeycomb pieces (crushed)
Honeycomb pieces refer to a brittle, aerated toffee candy, also called cinder toffee or sponge candy, made by adding baking soda to hot caramelised sugar to create its characteristic bubbly texture. It is eaten on its own, crushed over ice cream, or coated in chocolate as a confection. Its light, crunchy structure comes from the gas bubbles trapped when the baking soda reacts with the hot sugar.
Crushing breaks an ingredient into irregular fragments, which can pack either more loosely or more densely than the whole form depending on fragment size.
