Instant dry yeast
Instant dry yeast is a fine-grained, dehydrated form of baking yeast that can be mixed directly into dry ingredients without first being dissolved in liquid. It is used to leaven bread and other baked goods, producing carbon dioxide as it ferments sugars in the dough, causing it to rise. It generally acts faster than active dry yeast, which requires proofing in warm liquid before use.
