Jalapeño (diced)
Jalapeño is a medium-heat green chilli pepper, commonly used fresh in Mexican and Tex-Mex cooking, though it turns red as it fully ripens. It is sliced raw into salsas and toppings, pickled, stuffed, or cooked into sauces, with the seeds and membrane contributing most of its heat. Smoked and dried jalapeños become chipotle peppers.
Dicing cuts an ingredient into small, even cubes, which pack differently into a cup than slices or larger chopped pieces.
