Kaffir lime leaves (shredded)

Kaffir lime leaves, also known as makrut lime leaves, are the glossy, double-lobed leaves of the kaffir lime tree, with an intensely fragrant, citrusy aroma. They are used whole or finely shredded in Thai and Southeast Asian curries and soups, typically simmered in the dish and sometimes removed before serving. Their fragrance is much more pronounced than that of regular citrus leaves.

Shredding produces long, thin strips that trap more air than a fine grate, so shredded measurements are typically lighter per cup.
