Lemon verbena (dried, loosely packed)

Lemon verbena is a fragrant herb with narrow leaves and an intense lemony aroma, used fresh or dried, primarily in teas and infusions. It is also used to flavour syrups, custards, and some savoury dishes, offering a cleaner, more floral citrus flavour than lemon zest. Its delicate leaves are generally added toward the end of cooking or steeped rather than cooked for long periods.

Drying removes most of the water content, leaving a lighter, more concentrated product that weighs considerably less per cup than its fresh equivalent.
