Linseeds (whole)
Linseeds, also known as flaxseeds, are small, oval seeds with a nutty flavour, available whole or ground, and pressed for their oil. Ground linseed forms a gel-like consistency when mixed with water, sometimes used as an egg substitute in vegan baking, while whole seeds are sprinkled over cereals and baked goods for texture. Grinding the seeds makes their nutrients more accessible than eating them whole.
Measured whole and unprepared, before any chopping, slicing, or other processing changes its density.
