Longan (fresh, shelled)
Longan is a small, round tropical fruit with a thin, tan shell and translucent, sweet, juicy flesh surrounding a single dark seed, closely related to lychee but with a milder, less floral flavour. It is eaten fresh, dried, or canned, and is commonly used in Asian desserts and sweet soups. Dried longan has a more concentrated, smoky sweetness than the fresh fruit.
Measured fresh, before any drying, cooking, or other processing changes its water content and density.
