Marmalade

Marmalade is a citrus preserve made by cooking fruit, typically oranges, along with their peel, in sugar until thickened, resulting in a slightly bitter, tangy-sweet spread. It is spread on toast and bread, used as a glaze for meats like ham, or incorporated into baking. Its characteristic bitterness comes from including the citrus peel in the cooking process.
