Navy beans (canned drained)
Navy beans are small, oval white legumes with a mild flavour and a smooth, creamy texture once cooked, also known as haricot beans. They are commonly used in baked beans, soups, and stews, and hold their shape reasonably well after cooking. Dried beans require soaking, while canned beans are ready to use after rinsing.
Once drained of its canning liquid, this ingredient weighs less per cup than it does undrained, though usually more than the dried, unsoaked form.
