Onion (finely diced)

Onion is a pungent bulb vegetable used as a foundational aromatic in savoury cooking worldwide, with a sharp, sulphurous flavour raw that mellows into a sweet, savoury taste when cooked slowly. It is used raw in salads and salsas, or sautéed, caramelised, roasted, or fried as a base for countless dishes. Different varieties, from red to white to yellow, vary in sharpness and sweetness.

Finely diced pieces are smaller and pack more densely than a standard dice of the same ingredient.
