Paprika (ground)

Paprika is a spice made from ground dried red peppers, ranging in flavour from mild and sweet to hot, and sometimes smoked, depending on the pepper variety and processing. It is used to add colour and flavour to stews, rubs, and sauces, particularly in Hungarian and Spanish cooking. Its colour can fade or the spice can turn bitter if exposed to prolonged high heat.

Grinding reduces an ingredient to a fine, even texture that generally packs more densely than a whole or crushed form.
