Plain flour
Plain flour, also known as all-purpose flour, is a wheat flour with a moderate protein content, formulated to work reasonably well across a wide range of baking applications from cakes to bread. It provides structure through gluten development when mixed with liquid and worked, though the amount of gluten formed depends on how the dough or batter is handled. It is the most commonly used flour in general home baking.
