Puffed corn
Puffed corn consists of corn that has been processed and heated until it expands into light, airy pieces, distinct from popcorn in that it is often extruded into specific shapes rather than simply popped whole kernels. It is used as a snack food on its own or as a crunchy cereal ingredient. Its light, airy texture means it takes up considerable volume relative to its weight.
