Puffed rice
Puffed rice consists of rice grains that have been heated under pressure until they expand into light, airy, crunchy pieces, used in cereals and as a base for treats like rice crispy squares. It has a very mild flavour and a delicate, crisp texture that softens quickly if it absorbs moisture. Its light, airy structure means it takes up considerable volume relative to its weight.
