Spearmint (fresh, loosely packed)
Spearmint is a variety of mint with a milder, sweeter flavour than peppermint, commonly used fresh in cooking, drinks, and desserts. It is used in salads, sauces like mint sauce, and beverages such as mojitos, and its flavour fades with prolonged cooking, so it is often added toward the end of a dish or used raw. Its bright green leaves also make it a common garnish.
Measured fresh, before any drying, cooking, or other processing changes its water content and density.
