Spring onion (sliced)
Spring onion, also known as scallion or green onion, is a young onion harvested before the bulb fully develops, with a mild, fresh onion flavour. Both the white base and green tops are used, raw as a garnish or cooked briefly in stir-fries, soups, and other dishes. Its mild flavour and quick cooking time distinguish it from more pungent mature onions.
Slicing changes an ingredient's shape and how it settles into a measuring cup compared with the whole or diced form.
