Tamarillo (diced)
Tamarillo, also known as tree tomato, is an egg-shaped fruit with a tart, slightly tomato-like flavour and a firm, glossy red or golden skin. It is typically peeled before eating, since the skin is tough and bitter, and is used stewed, in chutneys, or in savoury sauces, particularly in South American and New Zealand cooking. Its tangy flavour sits somewhere between a tomato and a passionfruit.
Dicing cuts an ingredient into small, even cubes, which pack differently into a cup than slices or larger chopped pieces.
