Tequila

Tequila is a Mexican spirit distilled from the blue agave plant, with a flavour that ranges from bright and vegetal in unaged (blanco) versions to smooth and slightly oaky in aged (reposado and añejo) versions. It is drunk on its own or in cocktails like margaritas, and occasionally used in marinades and sauces for its distinct agave character. Its flavour profile varies considerably depending on how long it has been aged.
