Tinned tuna (drained)
Tinned tuna is tuna that has been cooked and preserved in a can, packed in oil, brine, or water, with a firm, flaky texture and a savoury, slightly fishy flavour. It is used in sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes, offering a convenient, shelf-stable form of the fish. Oil-packed tuna is generally richer and more moist than the leaner water-packed variety.
Draining removes excess liquid, so a drained measurement is lighter and less liquid-heavy than an undrained one.
