Watermelon seeds (dried)
Watermelon seeds are the small, black or white seeds found within watermelon flesh, which can be roasted and eaten as a snack similarly to pumpkin seeds. Roasted and hulled watermelon seeds have a mild, nutty flavour and a crunchy texture. They are less commonly used in Western cooking than in some Asian and African cuisines, where they are a popular roasted snack.
Drying removes most of the water content, leaving a lighter, more concentrated product that weighs considerably less per cup than its fresh equivalent.
