Wheat bran
Wheat bran is the hard outer layer of the wheat kernel, removed during the milling of white flour and separated for its high fibre content and coarse, slightly nutty flavour. It is added to baked goods, cereals, and smoothies to increase fibre and add texture. Its coarse structure absorbs liquid readily, which affects the moisture balance in baked recipes.
