Whey protein (powder)

Whey protein is a protein powder derived from whey, the liquid byproduct of cheesemaking, processed and dried into a fine, often flavoured powder. It is stirred into drinks, smoothies, and baking as a protein additive, with flavoured versions adding sweetness and taste beyond plain protein content. Its solubility and mild dairy flavour make it easy to blend into both cold and warm liquids.

As a fine powder, this ingredient packs densely into a cup with very little trapped air.
