White sugar
White sugar, also called granulated sugar, is a crystalline sweetener refined from sugarcane or sugar beets, with all molasses removed, giving it a pure, clean sweetness and white colour. It dissolves into liquids, caramelises with heat, and helps create structure and moisture retention in baked goods. It is the most commonly used sugar in general baking and cooking.
