Yam (diced)

Yam is a starchy tuber vegetable with rough, bark-like skin and a firm, dense flesh, distinct from sweet potato despite the names sometimes being used interchangeably in some regions. It is boiled, roasted, fried, or mashed, and requires cooking before eating due to its very firm, starchy texture. Different varieties range in flesh colour from white to yellow to purple.

Dicing cuts an ingredient into small, even cubes, which pack differently into a cup than slices or larger chopped pieces.
